History:
This station, which is paired with a low power television station with the same calls, was put on the air in April 1996 by Wilson Broadcasting with a Hip-Hop format from the beginning.  The station originally broadcast with 2.25 kW from a site southeast of Ashford off Pleasant Grove Road.

The station received a construction permit to boost power to 5.3 kW and raise antenna height, while also moving the transmitter site to an area east of Cowarts, east of Dothan, in April 2019.  That facility signed on in March 2020.

In April 2021, the station again applied for a boost in power, this time to 7.6 kW.  That facility signed on in June 2021.
