History:
Originally WRES, a country formatted station in Troy. At one point the station added half-hourly newsbreaks from CNN. Later, the station moved its transmitter to the top of the WSFA-TV tall tower, becoming (at that time) the station with the highest land based transmitter in the country, at 1830 feet. It briefly tried rock for the college-based populace of Troy, but it switched to black contemporary to become the multi-market ratings dominating monster it is today.
