AM Historical Profile: WMOO

History:

1550 came on in 1964 as WMOO, daytime country station, though it began selling religious time blocks and soon became wall-to-wall preachers. In 1967, it tried an R&B format, but moved it to it's new FM station (WBLX) in the early 70's, with AM returning to all-religious. In late 80's, the station moved to 660 with new call letters and better coverage. This frequency is no longer used in the area.
