History:
Began operations around
1960 as WIXI (Wixie in Dixie). It was as Top 40 station briefly in the
60's, around 1960 or 61... May have had a stint as a country station before
settling on gospel. Calls later were changed to WLPH and has been a black
gospel station for some time now. May still be using Kahn PowerSIDE transmitter.
