AM History Profile: WJBY

History:

One of Alabama's oldest stations, WJBY was put on the air in 1926 as a Gadsden station by Electric Construction Company, on 1290 kHz. This station went through about 3 frequency changtes before stopping at 930 kHz.

This station spawned WJBY-FM, which later became WQEN-FM after WAAX-AM bought it.
