TV History Profile: WDIQ

WDIQ came on the air in the August 8, 1956 to bring Alabama Public TV to south Alabama. All the network's call letters end in IQ -- this one was originally WAIQ for Andalusia. Later WAIQ was reassigned to Montgomery's channel 26 and this channel 2 became WDIQ (the D stands for Dozier, the small community near Andalusia where the tower is actually located.)
