AM History Profile: WASG

1140 WASG originated in the 80's as contemporary Christian -- one of the few Native American owned radio stations in the country. Boosted power to 50 kW days, then moved to 550 with low power but comparable coverage. Obtained FM companion WYDH, then the new owners shut the AM down.  Newer owners have ressurected the 550 signal and have a construction permit to move the station to a site near Cantonment, Florida. This station is now owned by the same group that owns all the Pensacola religious outlets.
